PERFORM A SURVEY AND FOCUS ON THE STUDY OF SPACE

Once you have the awareness of what theoretically could be achieved in the spaces you have, the time comes to clash with the reality of the facts and establish a budget to dedicate to the kitchen renovation: only in this way can you understand how and in what way measure you should intervene. It is useless to delude oneself to buy a new kitchen with a central island if you have a few thousand euros available, in this case it will be better to look for a compromise, so that the final result is as close as possible to the one you want.

If we do not have particular problems, the simplest solution is obviously to change everything: scrape the old kitchen and replace it with a new complete one of the latest generation appliances, perhaps even laying new floors and a new wall covering. So let's see how to do it in these cases, but then we also try to understand what can be done alternatively, if you want to limit expenses.

If you have opted for a radical change, unless you also decide to intervene by redoing everything from scratch (including systems, walls and floors), the time has come to find the ideal shape for your new kitchen and to do so you will have to take into account the space. of which you have, its conformation, its height, the openings present, the positions and the number of existing connections and sockets.

In many cases we opt for the classic in-line solutions, that is, those that develop on a single wall, which are not very invasive and therefore lend themselves perfectly both to be inserted in rectangular rooms and inside the living rooms, but in reality the possibilities are many and one must not preclude any a priori. Then there are kitchens with opposite equipped walls, L or U models, where, however, care must be taken to calibrate the overall dimensions and spaces of use very well; among the most modern solutions it is easy to come across island or peninsula solutions, really beautiful and scenic, but recommended only for those with large and open spaces. On the other hand, there are also many minimal and ultra-compact kitchens, designed for those who need to limit the waste of space to the maximum, some of these even disappear and when not used they disappear from sight!

HOW TO RENOVATE A KITCHEN: IDEAS, COSTS AND ADVICE

A high quality kitchen, for what concerns the furniture, can last in good condition even for 20 or 30 years; having said that, on the other hand, household appliances instead not only have a much shorter useful life, but, over time they become "obsolete" and then, although our kitchen is still in excellent condition, it is completely natural that after ten o fifteen years, visually (and sometimes not only!), you no longer fully satisfy us, because the tastes and trends in furniture now change from year to year, as well as lifestyle habits change.

The desire to renovate the rooms in the home, therefore, is absolutely understandable, especially if we are talking about a place like the kitchen, which is in fact one of the most vital and used spaces in a home, it is an intimate and familiar, the one to which more than any other we associate the idea of "home", also by virtue of the scents and memories it arouses in each of us.

If, therefore, you have decided in one way or another, that the time has come to review the layout of your kitchen, read our advice to do it in the best way, because, even if it doesn't seem, but, the things to decide are many and the implications of a practical and aesthetic order are innumerable therefore it is good to carefully weigh each choice, so as not to regret it, at least for the next 15-20 years!

Furthermore, it is not said that to bring a wave of news it is necessary to spend a fortune; clearly if you want a total revolution you will have to be willing to spend and take on the inconvenience that construction works involve in an inhabited house, but sometimes by spending reasonable amounts you can still get the desired result, let's see how.

When you want to intervene, the very first thing to do is a precise and detailed survey of the environments you want to renovate, so that you can return everything graphically. You can also carry out the survey yourself, using a meter or better still a "disto", or a laser pointer that is used to measure distances; the important thing is to mark in a precise and correct the presence of any windows or doors, with their sense of opening, as well as that of recesses or protrusions and then must adjust the position in which they are the attacks of the gas and of 'water, the discharge of the latter and all the so-called "power sockets", ie those sockets dedicated to the most powerful appliances, the light sockets and the light points.

Only by putting all this information together can you first understand how you would like to distribute the various elements in space and then if this is feasible and at what price. Because if you want to radically change the existing layout, in some cases doing it is quite simple as it is enough to perform traces on the wall in order to reposition and adapt the systems, other times instead it may be essential to also remove the existing flooring to make traces in the screed, work certainly feasible, but more expensive and long.
